The knife is made of high carbon steel SK-5 with subsequent heat treatment to hardness RC 54. The knife withstood over two tons of pressure at the blade/handle transition in a stress test! Each Bushman is given an anti-corrosive finish and hand honed to an extremely sharp edge. You can insert a purchased or improvised carriage into its hollow handle for a single-sided sharpened spear.
